“Martineli hasn’t done enough to be in the Brazil squad” – Former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Petit says
Former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Petit has stressed that Arsenal forward, Gabriel Martineli hasn’t done enough to earn a spot on the Brazil National team’s squad list.
Recall that Brazil coach, Tite had come under criticism for leaving out Martineli and others from his squad list during the last international breaks despite their consistent run of forms this season.
Now, Petit, has come to the defence of the Brazilian coach, stressing that Martineli still a lot to improve on in order to be considered in the National team.

After the Liverpool game, Petit said :
“Brazil played against Tunisia and Ghana and won both games, and of course, Martinelli wasn’t in the squad. I think it’s too early for him as there are players with more experience who are more efficient than him.”
He continued :
“We’re in the middle of October, and the list will be done in early November. He’s having a great season, but is it enough to go to the World Cup? This is Brazil. If he keeps on going in the form he’s in, he will be part of it, but I think it’s too early.”

Martineli has only had one international cap and would be looking to force his way into the team come December.
However, that will be no easy job considering the immense talents at the country’s disposal.
