Arsenal’s two forgotten stars may be given chance to shine against Bodo/Glimt

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is likely to rotate his squad again for the trip to Bodo/Glimt tonight. And it could be a good opportunity to hand an opportunity to two forgotten stars.

Arsenal are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League. That is undoubtedly the priority competition for the Gunners at the moment.

But a victory this evening would make it three wins from three in the Europa League and almost seal qualification. With a congested fixture schedule coming up, Arteta will also want to confirm top spot as soon as possible.

He has named the same starting XI for the previous two matches against FC Zurich and at home to Bodo/Glimt last week. But there could be two players yet to start this season who come into the team.

Cedric Soares is back fit and was in the squad last week, as well as for the 3-2 win over Liverpool on Sunday. He is yet to play a single minute for the Gunners this season.

The Portuguese could come in at right-back, with Takehiro Tomiyasu switching to centre-back alongside Rob Holding to give Gabriel a rest. Gabriel has played every minute so far this term and is due a breather.

Ben White’s form at right-back has downgraded Cedric to the third-choice in that position. But he can still play an important role for Arteta this season.

Another forgotten star who could get a chance is Reiss Nelson. Marquinhos struggled in the reverse fixture, while Gabriel Martinelli could be saved for Sunday’s trip to Leeds.

Nelson came off the bench for the final 10 minutes last week. He spent last season on loan at Feyenoord and was part of the team that lost to Roma in the Europa Conference League final in May
